ready nas duo wont power up only blue led and beeping
i have a ready nas duo . i believe it to be a v2 with atom processor . has worked fine for 3 years except the time when the psu block failed and i had to buy a new one . anyway had to power it down to relocate it and the unit has been off for a few days . now when powered up (which it does without pressing the power button ) all i have is the blue led constantly lit . no hd lights are on and the unit beeps constantly every few seconds .
if i remove the hd's the unit stops beeping . tried to do a reset but the power button shuts the unit down within a few seconds . so i cannot hold the power button for 5 seconds whilst holding the reset button .
when i use raidar it detects the unit ,but there is no name in the box to identify it . if i select locate unit the hd lights do not flash and i cannot setup the unit as the button is greyed out .
searched the internet for a few hours but no-one else seems to have had this problem .
stripped unit down (out of warranty) cleaned out the dust and removed the battery to try to reset the unit . didnt help at all.

Hello hollow,
What FW version is running on the NAS?
You mentioned you tried a reset, I hope you have full backup because factory reset will format disks that are inserted. Resetting the unit without the disks won't help.
I would suggest testing the disks with diagnostic tools, just make sure to label each disk with which bay they are inserted, the order is important that when inserting them back to the NAS, they should be back to their respective bays.
Diagnostic tools can be acquired from disk manufacturer's web site.

i cant tell what firmware revion its on and its been over a year since i last updated the firmware and i cant access the setup of it to find out , raidar finds the mac address of it ,host name and ip address . it says no disks detected ,but ive used the seagate tools and both drives are fine ,run the tests both drives bought at the exact same time so it would be more than coincidence for both to be dead at exactly the same time .
about the reset . its impossible for it to be done as it shuts down within a few seconds of holding the power button in . just wondering if the power supply has died again and isnt providing the correct power .

It could well be PSU failure or some other kind of hardware failure.
The Duo v2 has an ARM processor not an Intel Atom processor btw. You can tell if you have the v2 from looking at How to tell whether I have a Duo v1 or Duo v2 or NV+ v1 or NV+ v2
