Ready NAS Pro Display

I noticed the other day that my NAs blue display is no longer on. Is there something that can be done to get it back to displaying the info?

  • And if you briefly press the power button, still nothing?  How about when it's booting?  Not even "ReadyNAS" then?  I've honestly never heard of that symptom (at least alone) before.  While there are some things that could have come loose inside, that's unlikely after all the time that has passed since the unit was new unless you've had it open.

The only thing I see now is the little green flashing light for activity

I also opened it up today and checked all connections and all are tight and secured

By default, with only power applied, it shoud say ReadyNAS upon boot. So, it's probably the part itself is bad, but could be a simple part on the motherboard is like a blanking signal or current-limiting resistor.  Netgear doesn't sell parts or make schematics available, and I seriously doubt the part is available elsewhere, especially considering it's age.

Even if you can find the part, there is no guarantee that rep[lacing it will fix the problem.  Fortunately, since some ReadyNAS have no display, there is RAIDar to provide similar information.
