Readynas 102 - SMB/AFP Connection Failed
Hello all, I am having an issue connecting to my NAS via Finder using either AFP (has never worked) or, now, SMB. I created a new folder for the NAS in order to house an iTunes library & sin...

What firmware is the NAS running?
Can you connect to any shares? Or is the new itunes one the only problem?

It's running the latest firmware I believe (6.5.1), it certainly suggests that the firmware is up to date when I checked.
It's odd, I can't connect through Finder but I'm using XLD to convert my music file format (FLAC to AIFF) & if I go into the NAS through XLD it is fine.
I can't connect to any shares at all.

That is odd.
There have been a lot of folks (using Windows PCs) who've had similar issues when accessing shares. Using a local NAS account credential seems to resolve it.
I'm not a mac user, so I can't give specifics. But if there's a way in Finder to use the NAS IP address, specifing "admin" as the username with the NAS admin password, I suggest you try it.

I have tried to access via the admin log in details but the share won't allow me to attempt to log in. It just states either 'connection failed' or 'no connection'.
I've also tried connecting via the Server/Go option in Finder but this has now stopped working too!
I can gain access & move filed via the webpage but it's so slow to transfer files it's soul destroying, not to mention the fact that if the transfer is interrupted then nothing transfers over, so I can't just leave it to copy overnight just in case.
