    Welcome to the Community!

     

    There is no performance increase on Read/Write on RAID 1 configuration. This option is for Redundancy, so only one drive is operating and the other will take over in case of failure. If you are looking for that option, RAID 0 would be the answer but you will lose options for protection.

     

    Using an SSD might be better when on RAID 1. SSDs are way faster than traditional HDDs but have lower capacity..
