ReadyNAS 1500 rack mount legacy
After a power outage my Raidar won't discover my readynas and the power light constantly blinks. Any ideas?

I already did the the skip volumn check and OS reinstall. I dont' have a spare drive to boot to.. I read somewhere to pull the drives and boot to the chasis and that doesn't work either.

If you boot without drives, the NAS will not boot. But, it should show up in RAIDar with "No disks" for the status. If it doesn't get that far, it's either a corrupt flash or a hardware issue. I believe the next step would be a USB recovery. If that doesn't help, then it's the chassis. My first guess would be the power supply. I suspect the 1500 uses a flex ATX supply, but I don't know if it's a rewired one or standard. You can check the wire colors against this chart: ReadyNAS_PSU_pinout.

So I pulled the cover and I have a red light near the code CR5. Does that mean anything to you?

"CR5" is probably just the label on the board for Diode 5 (the LED in this case). (CR is ancient history for "crystal rectifier" and is still used in schematics and board layouts.) Unfortunately, Netgear has not released hardware schematics or troubleshooting guides, so I have no idea if that's even abnormal. Some ReadyNASes do have a red LED that's normally on. And I've never seen a 1500. I believe it's basically a repackaged NVX, but don't even know just how much the two share.

So any Idea where I can find a list of spare parts for this? I guess I need to start replacing stuff 1 by 1 until it works. Thanks
