ReadyNAS 2100 Memory Compatibility
The specifications claim that the ReadyNAS 2100 uses "1GB ECC MEMORY", we've found that the ReadyNAS 2100 that we purchased new in the spring of 2013 does not in fact use ECC memory. The 2100 appears to use DDR2 800MHz (PC2-6400) CL6 SODIMM 200-Pin notebook memory and we've successfully tested 1, 2, and 4GB memory configurations. We've tested multiple SODIMMS from Crucial and all appear to work just fine. The web interface shows the correct amount of memory installed. Transfer tests do not show any noticeable difference between 1, 2 and 4GB memory configurations; however we may be reaching a bandwidth limit due to the use of 3TB Western Digital RED hard drives. We may have had better results with more memory installed copying many smaller files, instead of the larger 2GB files that we used for our benchmark.
