ReadyNAS 314 LCD Displaying Memory Error
I have a brand new readynas 314 updated to the latests OS 6.4.2, I believe. I've only had it for no more than 1.5 days and this morning I see the LCD displaying weird characters. I couldn't access ...

Memory Error with no ability to use the boot menu appears pretty clear cut. Most likely either a problem with the memory (RAM) or the memory coming loose in shipment.
With a recent purchase if you can return it to your reseller in exchange for a new unit that would be best.
If you were seeing e.g. "Out of Memory" that would be a completely different issue and wouldn't suggest bad hardware.

The exact error message is: Memory Error. That's it. Nothing more than that.
I already tried to reset the system by following the steps and it wouldn't reset. It stays on that error message.

Hi davila917,

I cannot get to the boot menu at all. It won't get past the error message. I'm already requesting an RMA. I don't want to open the device since I bought it within a couple of weeks.

Hi davila917,
I apologize for what happened. I hope that RMA will be processed immediately and you will let us know if that fixes the issue (kindly post the ticket number from support). I am just wondering about the weird characters that you mentioned on your initial post.
Kind regards,
BrianL

With that said, when I get the replacement will it attempt to format the hard drives?
