ReadyNAS 426 fw 6.10.6 Cannot access Admin page

Inherited a Netgear ReadyNAS 426 and need to repurpose it for a hybrid cloud storage solution. The drives were all wiped and reformatted, and the NAS was reset to Factory Default.

After the factory reset, the Admin page can not be accessed.

Raidar shows the firmware as being 6.10.6

Status says: Volume data RAID Level 5, Inactive; 27.3TB (100%) of 27.3TB used

Not sure why it is saying 100% of storage is used on the drives. I have confirmed that they have been wiped and reformatted.

I've tried multiple browsers to access the admin page, cleared cache etc, as well as trying https as I've seen in another suggestion on this forum. Page just spins, somtimes I get a loading bar that says connnecting to admin page, but then it errors out and says Admin page is offline.

Any suggestions?

  • Have you tried running the diagnostics with RAIDar?

Also, will it download the logs?

Before I factory reset the device, downloading the logs via Raidar was not working. When I would select download logs, it would load for a moment then nothing would happen. Same with the diagnostics.

Now that I've factory reset it, the only radio button in Raidar just says "Offline Setup (LAN)" which just tries to open the admin page in a web browser which just never stops loading.

I initiated an OS reinstall before I went to bed last night. This morning the NAS status says that it is resyncing. Admin page still not accessible. Storage utilization is still showing 27.3TB/27.3TB 100%. Before I factory reset the NAS, the storage utilization was at 0%. Really strange.

The drives have been reformatted by what?  You want the drives unformatted when installed for a factory default or else you have to format them yet again with the NAS because it uses a Linux disk format.
