The V2 is just over 10 years old, so first make sure it is a V2, which will have a model number with -200 and say V2 on the front. Any other indication of V2 (like on a sticker on the bottom) means something different.
But regardless of which you have, it's a unit that is old and has not had a firmnware update for some time. It's based on an obsolete Linux dispo. Apps will mostly be equally old. It also only supports SMB1, not even SMB2.
Frankly, I'd relegate it to backing up your Synology. If you need another NAS, one of the current ReadyNAS models will have a lot of current apps available.
