ReadyNAS OS 6, Remote admin config
I did a firmware update from OS4 to OS6 Successfully. My question is if i can somehow configure a user or such to let my friend login as admin or either a normal user with admin permissions to help ...

Have i missunderstood or are there a better way? Maybe there is a Netgear addon for this?
If you set up ReadyCloud on the NAS, then your friend could use that. You'd need to give him the NAS admin credentials though

i thought maybe i can use port forwarding in my router to just allow incoming connections from his WAN-ip ?
Routers I've owned don't let you filter inbound connections that way.

A VPN is what you want here. ReadyCloud is a VPN and then some. Many routers have VPN capability built in. I personally use ZeroTier to administer my backup NAS at my brother's house 3 states away, though the ReadyNAS-specific app for it is getting quite old.

Aha.. okey!
Cant use ReadyCloud it seems. The device needs to be registered it says when i try to upgrade my mynetgear account.
Since the device is bought used previous owner has allready registered it and i cant register. So ReadyCloud cant be used.
So i need to look into some other services.
ZeroTier, is it free to use?- StephenBSep 10, 2020Guru - Experienced User

There's something wrong here. The mynetgear account doesn't need to be upgraded, and you don't need to register the NAS for support in order to use ReadyCloud.

Yes.
You might also check if your router supports OpenVPN (which is also free to use). Many routers do, including Netgear Nighthawk and Orbi models.

Ok, then please tell me how to login to ReadyCloud with my Mynetgear account. I cant get it to work.
Wrong username or password it says. The documentation says that i need to upgrade my mynetgear account to readycloud account to get it to work and also register my device.
I dont know if my router supports VPN and such, its a Technicolor TG799vac Xtream that was included from the ISP.
I can change it out to my own but hasnt done that yet. This one is not customizeable. Pretty locked.
I can do portforwarding and adding routes, DMZ... etc.
