- UncluesteveAspirantI would like to add a request in for the Frontview backup. I know there is an option to exclude files or folders, but there is no way to exclude file types. It would be nice to be able to exclude temporary files & some system files that are new needed in all of my backup jobs. For instance; *.tmp, *.bak, *.plt, *.sv$ Since most of the files I am backing up are AutoCAD files, these extra files are of little use to me in a recover situation.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThanks for the request re uploading SSH keys.
There are a number of cloud changes in 6.2, so you may find Replicate is better on 6.2 once it is released. - TonVAspirantHi mdgm, I know the key goes there, Google is my friend... However Rsync over SSH is basic functionality, why not make it easy on the 90% (or more) of your customer who don't (want to) know putty? Also, doing this manually is more error prone, and I really hate going back to a remote site to fiddle with SSH keys!
If Replicate were much better than Rsync over SSH than I could live with that, but my recent experiences with replicate proof the opposite. It is currently not working at all. Btw, any improvements for Replicate in 6.2? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe key goes in the authorized_keys file.
- TonVAspirantCan you please add a frontview function to UPLOAD an SSH key for RSYNC?
Currently it is easier to set up RSYNC from a ReadyNas device to a non-ReadyNas device (they often do have an SSH key upload function).
I know NetGear wants us all to use Replicate, but some don't like to depend on a 3rd party website to do backups (due to privacy or availability).
My reason for requesting this feature is that although Replicate works kind of nice WHEN it works but the website is simply not reliable at the moment.
If this is not possible, how about a detailed description in the manual on how to upload an SSH key using SSH on OS6, I can't find that either... - xeltrosApprenticeUnfortunately, Netgear policy is to not comment on non-released features. So I think you will get this information when 6.2 (or its beta) is released.

Especially I need the OS4 functionality to schedule switch off the NAS only (in OS6 I should define on and off simultaneously, but I need only off). In other words: I want to switch on the NAS in any time and have sheduled off at 2 am at night (for instance).
Is there any chance to do it, please?
I have the possibility in OS4. Why we are devoided of this in OS6?
What about the functionality of schedule for switch-off the NAS (only switch-off the NAS). Nobody need it?
I have scheduled switch-off in my OS4 and every night the NAS is switched-off at 2:00 AM. I switch-on only when I need the NAS (not everyday).
Will there be any changes in version 6.2 with reference to this case? - ReadyASGuide
