Do you have disk spindown enabled on the NAS?
BTW, you can convert your NAS to run OS-6 firmware.

Dear StephenB.
Thank you for your reply.
I have disabled the HDD spin down.
By the way, I have also enabled the write cache setting.I do not have this problem with the Readynas 316 that I own, so it is certainly possible that the OS6 conversion is valid. (I thought about it for a bit myself.)
However, when I converted my old Readynas Ultra6 to OS6, I had a problem where it stopped responding after 3-4 hours of continuous writing, so I have cold feet.

Did you upgrade the stock RAM from 1 GB to 2-4 GB?

Dear StephenB.
I had an old Readynas ultra6 with 2GB of memory.
After converting to OS6, when I was writing back data from a backup, I lost response at random times.
The copy was interrupted and the admin screen in the browser also became unresponsive.
PING response was OK.
Light usage was fine, but I was worried so I reverted back to OS4.
The Readynas Ultra6 was already broken and I bought a new used Readynas Pro6.
When I was using Readynas Ultra with OS4.2.30
I did not have this problem.
Readynas Pro6 and Ultra6 do not seem to be very different in terms of hardware, but I wonder what the difference is.Somehow I have a feeling that this is a Samba issue. Is there any way to remedy the problem by setting it up, etc.?
