I performed the 2GB --> 4GB RAM upgrade on my 314 last night using the G.Skill module with 9-9-9-24 timing etc. that was recommended elsewhere.
The 314 is noticeably more responsive. Navigating through Plex on my TV is much improved. Even clicking through the tabs on the web GUI takes place without that slight lag. The RAM upgrade was well worth it — just like it's been going all the way back to my NV+. Wish Netgear shipped these with max RAM by default.
I'm running the Memory Test from the Boot Menu now. I have an HDMI cable plugged into the RN314 and routed to the TV via my receiver (a Denon 3311CI), but the TV is not showing any readout (in fact, it says, "No signal"). Is monitor-oriented HDMI somehow different from TV-oriented HDMI? I should've thought that HDMI video signals were all the same.
EDIT: I've just plugged a longer HDMI cable directly into my TV. Still no display ("No signal"). Is the HDMI port even activated on these units?
