RR4312X0v2 - Backup failing via RSYNC

Question

Is the rsync daemon running on the remote server?

There might be more information in the log zip (or equivalent on the destination).&nbsp; You might look in dmesg.log first.

My first suspicion&nbsp;would be that you didn't set up rsync write capability on the receiving NAS share.

Thanks for the suggestion, can you help me on this anything particular I should check as I have setup write but only thing I suspect is on folders where backup is working fine

folder owner is number like - 32768 and group is like - 32773 but where its failing folder owner is saladmin and folder group is domain admins...not able to understand how this numbers came in the NAS

User accounts have a username and an associated user id (UID); similarly groups have a groupname and an associated GID.&nbsp; You are seeing those numbers because the NAS is seeing UIDs and GIDs in the file metadata that have no associated user account or group.&nbsp; That can happen when the account was deleted on the NAS, or it can happen when rsync or nfs is used to copy the files from another linux system (where that account did exist).

You can fix that by setting the file owner/group and other permissions as desired on the file access page of the share settings, and then click on the reset control to recursively apply those settings to everything in the share. Then maybe try running your backup again.
