Stora died and want to recover data

i just come back tosay thankyou.You saved my 3000 pictures stored in 2 disk in JBOD in Stora. It was a bit tricky but bootable USB with Ubuntu helps.
Hopefully, you've learned from this that backup is essential. Luckily, it wasn't essential this time. For photos, most find cloud storage to be the best backup option. For video and other large files where online storage would get expensive, a second local device is often used.
Had it been one of the drives that failed, the files would have been irrecoverable. Even with RAID, failures can happen that cause data loss.
There is an old IT saying: If you only have one copy of something, you must not think it's very important.
