Windows File History Backup Not Running
Hi All,
I've been running a ReadyNas 516 for a few years now, but with some issues. Every now and then, i notice that my windows auto backup (using file history) stops working. In the past, i've been able to unmap and remap the Readynas drive that would fix the issue. Currently though, i can not seem to fix the issue. After remapping the drive, its still not working. Windows sees the file size of the backup, but when i click to run the backup, it starts showing "backing up data...." and then stops after 10 seconds or so. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Is there a better way to back up my PC?
Thanks!

Is the mapping by name or IP address? If by name, I suggest you either change to IP address or add the NAS IP to the PC's hosts file. Getting this to work does require that your NAS always has the same IP address, which is best done in your router by address reservation but can be done in the NAS by setting a static IP.
