X-Raid or Flex
I have two drives in my system and would like to have them show as two drives and not as one or mirror. This way if I have 4 - 4GB Drives I can have each one set up for different data. Thank you

Hi there,
for this set up you need to destroy the volume, disable xraid and recreate a new volume in flex-raid. Then you can decide how many disk you want in the volume.
My raccomandations is to have the nas using the default value to prevent data lost. Disc have moving parts and subject to waer.

Thank you for the reply. I am in Flex-Raid but it won't allow me to format or create a new volume. Am I doing something wrong?

You would need to backup your data and destroy the existing volume before you can create new volumes.
To create a new volume you would follow the steps in this article: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23131/~/how-do-i-create-a-volume-on-my-readynas-os-6-storage-system%3F
