I'm also seeing the same problem. Is Remote using SSH over port 443? Because that port's blocked here, with no chance of it being unblocked.
Update: Got a new error dialog this time. "Initialization Failed. For more informatiom (sic), please visit http://www.readynas.com/remote. Error code: -3".
