Application Initialization error

If you reboot your PC, are you still getting this error?
Yes. I've rebooted, done uninstalls and reinstalls (latest release, v1.1.9), and still get the same error. I've tried both automatic and manual proxy configuration, too.
On a separate note, are there non-alphanumeric characters that Remote has problems with in passwords? I had to change from my original password (which the web site accepted) to a new one without any special characters because Remote kept telling me to enter my user ID and password even though the fields had been correctly filled.
