can't connect to ReadyNAS server

My readynas duo used to work ok with remote and now doesn't. I oo get the ReadyNAS Remote could not connect to the ReadyNAS server, please check your internet connection and DNS settings.
I'm running raidiator 4.18. I removed remote and then reinstalled, same problem. I'm not behind a proxy server. It's almost as if the readynas server has disappeared or access to it had changed in some way.
I've tried the front end fix, and stooped and restarted remote
I'm on a duo
remote 1.0.9.78
Anyone any ideas?
