downloading torrent to nas at work. controll it at home?

After installing Transmission and forwarding the correct port on your router (8181), then you will need to enter the IP and port number in the address bar:
http://external.ip.of.nas:portnumber
So, if your external WAN ip was 12.34.56.78, you would type
http://12.34.56.78:8181
You will be prompted for the Transmission username & password:
Web interface on port 8181
default user is : admin
default password is : password1
Bittorrent port is : 51413
Default Download path /c/media/BitTorrent/
PeerBlocklist updated each day
Settings can be changed in Frontview UI and in Transmission WebInterface and in /addons-config/Transmission/transmission-daemon/settings.json
scheduler for bandwidth is removed and now handled by settings.json
