I think a better starting point than the graphical dropbox client would be the available Libraries for accessing the Dropbox REST API.
There are official libraries available for Python, Java, Ruby and Objective-C as well as 3rd party libraries for PHP and Perl.
I haven't seen python or ruby for ReadyNAS but the PHP library looks promising.
