You're right, the Dropbox public folder does have file link sharing capabilities. My point was that it's very limited (access, security, granularity). I won't go into details since Dropbox and Egnyte serve completely different markets. Dropbox is more for consumer and Egnyte is more for business. Not saying there's no crossover, but both are great services in their respective spaces :)
I'll definitely bring up the pricing structure concerns at our next staff meeting. You bring up a very interesting point, because usually for small-medium businesses, we are replacing their traditional file servers with Egnyte + ReadyNAS so we save them a ton of money. But for individual use, the cost might not be so justified.
Thanks again for the great input guys, since Egnyte works so closely with NETGEAR, we really value the opinion of the NETGEAR community :)
