Mysql server start and stop as soon

Hi all I have a problem to start the mysqlserver !! I have installed FW 4.1.12 and when I try to start it, it seems to start a few second and then stop. Here is the command I use : start-stop...

After it fails to start, is there any mention of mysql in /var/log/messages ?
