- dsm1212ApprenticeI'm a little confused about blocklist updates. I thought I read here somewhere that it should be updated daily, but my blocklist file was a few weeks old. I don't see anything running blocklist.sh in cron. Should the transmission server be invoking that periodically? How can I be sure it is working?
thanks,
steve - super_poussinVirtuosoblocklist should be updated by transmission itself , which version are you runing ?
- markj23Aspirantsince upgrading to recent firmware and transmission I've noticed that transmission stops very frequently, nearly every 15 minutes. Anyone else having similar issues?

I'm having the same problem. Updated to Firmware 4.1.8 and Transmission 2.34 beta 4. But I was having those problems also with 4.1.7 when using the latest versions of Transmission from app. 2.3 and up, not sure where the problems started exactly anymore.
I don't have any problems with Transmission if it doesn't download or seed anything, but as soon as there is any activity it keeps stopping on me... :( - dsm1212Apprentice

4.2.18 with Transmission at 2.33. The timestamp on the blocklist file and blocklist.log is what has me suspicious. If this is done elsewhere once the system is running (in memory or something) then there may not be an issue. Is there a log I can check? Is it possible there is a file permissions issue? Who should own those two files?
thanks
steve - dsm1212ApprenticeOk, my problem was that the file /etc/cron.daily/blocklist was missing the #!/bin/sh at the top of the file. Never editted it so I have no idea why this was missing! Also, i found that check-trans was not running because the whole file was indented 4 spaces. This made the #!/bin/sh at the top of that file inneffective. I shift that one line to the left and that started working too.
Wierd that I'm the only one who has this (or noticed it).
steve - dsm1212ApprenticeOne more note, after I fixed check-trans and ran it. I got an email that started with the text below and then went on to tell me about 2.13. I went to frontview and there was a 2.40 there so I updated, but I don't know why the check-script reported such an old version.

New firmware, and Transmission seems to hit 90-95% CPU all the time - added one thing to seed, and 24 hours later, I couldn't connect.
The frustrating thing here is Super-P has clearly done loads of good work on this, and I don't care too much about features right now, I just want to get my torrents seeding again, and download a couple of new things. But I'm really struggling to find a single version that works right now, and seeing reports of problems on several other versions. Does anyone have a SUCCESS story with one particular version right now ?! If so, that's the version I want to try next ! - dsm1212ApprenticeMaybe you are on a non-x86, but I just updated my pro to 4.2.19 and transmission 2.40 and it seems fine. I'm transferring something now and transmission is at like 1% of cpu.
steve - phantomwhaleAspirantAh yeah, I'm on a SPARC based ReadyNAS NV+
