Oh - forgot - I've changed the user ID, pwd and web UI port number for transmission - could any of these be the reason it fails to start automatically when the NAS wakes up?

No, i don't think so. I've changed password and port, leaving the admin user name as is. Starts on boot, every time.

ln -s /usr/local/lib/libevent-2.0.so.5 /usr/lib/libevent-2.0.so.5

./etc/frontview/addons/bin/TRANSMISSION/start.sh

I also had this issue, and found this solution on obe of the ubuntu sites.

Im having a problem with the Transmission add on.

I install and then I disable the transmission in.
Then i go to the Config file to edit it " I only edit the password"
go back to activate the Transmission.
"Failed to start Transmission"

Why? Can anyone help me with that?

What's the new password? I just did a clean install with 6.0.8 and transmission but admin/password1 isn't working anymore.

Disable the addon, and enter a new password in settings.json? The key is "rpc-password". (Well, i think it is) Enter your new password in plain text, and it should be encrypted the next time you start transmission. Must be the fastest way, and you should change the password anyway.

Installed transmissionr6_3.00.3_all.deb on fresh install of 6.0.8 - all default settings. Transmission starts fine, but doesnt start on reboot. Toggle the app off/on and it works. Then fails on reboot again.

Any ideas?

Hello All,

Fairly new to forum and the ReadyNAS world. I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 with RAIDiator 4.2.24 installed.

I do not have any other add-on's installed other than Transmission.

Any version of Transmission I install I can never get it to start. Attempted to reboot the ReadyNAS and still no go. It will not start manually nor automatically on boot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
