I have been trying to set up readynas remote access and run into some of these issues seeing folders under Mac OSX.
Here are the details:
Readynas NV+ updated to latest RAID (November 12, 2010 – Version 4.1.7)
ReadyNAS Remote 1.0.9.51 (old version removed, NAS rebooted, new version installed.)
MAC OSX 10.5.8 client 1.0.21
Windows XP 1.6.5.15
After applying the fix to the ReadyNAS Remote I was able to connect via windows and see the shares but not via Mac. It would connect without errors but show no folders.
Using a console connection, I browsed to /Applications/ReadyNAS\ Remote.app/Contents/MacOS/ and ran the ReadyNAS Remote binary from there to see errors.
This alerted me to the following: "Bind error: Address already in use"
I checked the address of the virtual interface and it was using the same IP as the windows client (which had been disconnected) which was on the 5.170.xxx.xxx range.
Another error was: delete: can't locate 5.170.xxx.xxx. This was my NAS address on the virtual network, clearly shown as a UNC map from my XP machine.
After a while the bind error stopped and I was able to check the open ports on the NAS, plus directly connect to the server under finder. example: AFP://5.170.xxx.xxx
So via other methods I have directly connected via the VPN to the NAS but can still not see anything in the MAC OSX client.
