ZoneMinder looks very good, but like u want Super-Poussin.

With your job, linux is simple to use, without very difficult, i'm afraid about super user mode in a console.

Depending on how many frames a second you watch, will limit how many it can monitor at a time. Recording motion at ~10fps, will probably limit you to one video feed on the NAS, due to the CPU resources needed.
