1st boot, all new drives - drive 4 resyncing?
Hi there,
I purchased the diskless NV+ V2 today and 4 new drives (3TB WD Red WD30EFRX) - upon installing the drives and performing the first boot it clunked away and created the 8.1TB partition and went straight to resyncing (disk 4 is flashing) - its been a few hours now and it's up to 11% and is estimating another 15 hours to go - is this normal?
I've checked the info tab on the dashboard, drives 1, 2 & 3 are all green and read OK - disk 4 is orange and reads "ReSync" - on mouse over the drive looks fine, no smart errors or anything?
Is a ReSync on a new set of disks normal? The fact the ReSync has got to 11% with no smart errors - does this suggest that drive 4 is ok and the box is just resyncing it for some random reason? (If so, what could that reason be?)
I welcome your thoughts.
Regards
Jordon
PS: I've updated the box to the latest firmware (5.3.7)

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe disks need to be synced sector by sector to setup the RAID. It's normal.
- HeavenCoreAspirantHi, i'm glad to hear that - cheers
Why would only one drive be syncing? Just curious :) - all drives are syncing since the parity is striped across all the disks, but the system is essentially rebuilding the 4th disk from the contents of the first 3 disks.
