2 disk to 3 disks - NV+ v2
I am looking into buying a ReadyNAS NV+ v2 and to keep the initial cost of this purchase down, I am looking at only buying 2 disks for now but then adding more at a later date.
So if I was to install these 2 initial disks and then add a 3rd later, will it change the RAID from 0/1 to 5? What requirements do I need to be able to complete this. I will have a clean system but only 2 disks as first.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf you use the default X-RAID2 it will do this.
Have you heard that new models have been released. You may wish to consider the new model, the RN104 - aaronsalkeldAspirantThanks mdgm for your super quick reply.
I will now look into getting this.
Regarding the RN104, can't find much about this model. I'm in Australia and it's not out as yet I don't think.
Cheers - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI'm in Australia too. The new models aren't available down here yet. Hopefully they'll be available down here within the next month or two
