Thanks I finally got this to work. I managed to solve the issue by uninstalling the app turning off my ReadyNAS duo. Turning it back on and then reinstalling the app. If you accidentally delete through the edit setting like me (I think you are just telling the app to forget the unit by doing that) it will only reappear after you reboot the device and reinstall the app.
Following that I found it is important to set up the FTP service to allow anonymous login. I had no luck logging in with my user accounts for some reason.
