ACLs being set on files/folders

Basically, I want to set my share to readonly for everyone, but for 2 users, I want them to have write access.

If I create a folder and a file, I get:
drwxrwxrwx+ 1 john users 42 May 7 10:32 .
drwxrwxrwx+ 1 guest guest 176278 May 7 10:31 ..
-rwxrwxrwx+ 1 john users 0 May 7 10:32 New Text Document.txt

Should the ACLs be set? I would think it should be rwxrwxrwx, not rwxrwxrwx+.

Additionally, here are my settings - does this look about right? So I want to have chown guest:guest for all files and folders?

Network Access
SMB:
- Everyone, read only
- Admin, and one user: read/write
- Everyone else, unchecked

File Access:
- Folder owner: guest
- Folder group: guest

- Grant rename and delete privs, is checked

- Everyone, Folder Owner, Folder Group is checked as read/write
- No one else is checked
