Added 3rd disk to ReadyNas NV+ V2 problems
I need help :(
I've been struggling with this for a while. I've had my ReadyNAS NV+ V2 running for a few years. It's configured for X-RAID2 and has 2 bays occupied, both 3TB harddrives. It's nearing capacity so I decided to add another WD RED 3TB harddrive. The NAS detects it fine when I plug it in but it never expands its capacity... I'm still at 2.7TB. I was expecting it to be 4-5TB. I've tried everything from getting a replacement drive and trying with that to rebooting over and over again but nothing worked. I'm quite close to just demoting this NAS as a backup of backup NAS -.-
Any ideas?

Hello mabviper,
Did RAIDar detect the new disk?
Perhaps, remove the new disk first. Back up the data, then update the firmware. Put the disk back in and see if it will automatically expand.

Also what does your mdstat.log look like?
- mabviperAspirant
The mdstat.log looks like this:
--------------------------
Personalities : [linear] [raid0] [raid1] [raid10] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4]
md2 : active raid5 sda3[3] sdb3[2]
2925544704 blocks super 1.2 level 5, 64k chunk, algorithm 2 [2/2] [UU]
md1 : active raid1 sda2[2] sdb2[1]
524276 blocks super 1.2 [2/2] [UU]
md0 : active raid1 sdb1[2]
4193268 blocks super 1.2 [2/1] [_U]
unused devices: <none>----------------------------------
I'm assuming md2 is the new disk.
