Hello, I have been struggling with this problem for going on two months now. Still don't know what happened, but I am still unable to access the shares through Explorer.
Here are the things I know:
1. If I open Explorer>Network, I see the NAS as a storage device and as a media device
2. If I click on the media device version, I see the media.
3. if I click on the storage device version, it opens the admin page on the NAS
4. If I change the admin address, https://192.168.0.21/admin/ to the backup share, https://192.168.0.21/backup, I can see the contents, but this is in my browser
5. If I reverse slashes and attempt to access the path in Explorer, I get this error:
"Windows cannot access \\192.168.0.21\backup" check the spelling of the name. Otherwise there may be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network issues, click diagnose." If instead, i click on the "more" option, it says "Error code: ox80004005 unspecified error"
6. If I click Diagnose, it says "troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem"
7. I use a backup program called Acronis. It is requested to backup to: \\PB\backup\My Backups and it WORKS.... I can browse that directory and see backups as recently as 2 days ago.
8. If I put the EXACT same link in Explorer, I get the error I mentioned in "5" above.
why is my browser, my media player, and Acronis able to access the same folder on the NAS but Explorer can't?
This is getting serious as my computer's drives are basically full, I am a photographer and can't add more content to my computer, I can't access the NAS, and I have a new computer built to replace this one but without being able to access NAS I can't add data to the shares I want to and can't access the NAS from my new computer to copy data there. That answers another question asked above. I am NOT able to access the NAS from my new computer either.
I HAVE to solve this problem as it is basically going to put me out of business and I have important data that needs to be backed up and I can't.
I also mentioned I am unable to see one PC from another as I could before this happened, so the problem isn't just PC to NAS, but is also PC to PC.
I really need a solution so any help would be greatly appreciated!! :(
