Antivirus Alert Message
Just now I just received 5 alert messages from the antivirus scanner, seemingly related to python/pip
Antivirus scanner found a threat ( Win.Malware.Generic-9937882-0) in the file /apps/.xdg/cache/pip/http/b/2/6/c/b/.... Please delete the infected file soon.
Antivirus scanner found a threat ( Win.Malware.Generic-9937882-0) in the file /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/pip/_vendor/distlib/t64.exe. Please delete the infected file soon.
Antivirus scanner found a threat ( Win.Malware.Generic-9937882-0) in the file /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/pip/_vendor/distlib/w32.exe. Please delete the infected file soon.

Kinda odd given I haven't installed anything recently, no apps running. False positive?

Of course if you aren't using python, you could uninstall it.

I agree with StephenB if you are not using Python or unsure if the file is safe better to uninstall or remove the suspected file. Otherwise you can report it to https://www.clamav.net/reports/fp

Hi,
I have got exactly the same 5 messages. So I also assume it is a false positive. Although you never cant be really sure of course ;-)
