Backup and replicate file deletions?
Hello
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ v2 with about 1.5 TB used and 1.2 TB free. I replaced a D-Link DNS-323 with this unit and would like to use the DNS-323 as a backup destination with various backups scheduled to run at different intervals. I really need a Replicator function to only backup the new files and remove files no longer on the source. Looking at the Replicator Add-on I'm not sure that it suits me but happy to be told otherwise. I am currently running RAIDiator 5.3.7 firmware.
When I run an incremental backup it looks like new files are being copied but old files are still left there. Is there an easy way to run a replication backup to suit my needs? I would like to just have scheduled backups running on the ReadyNAS automatically. I don't what to turn on the "Remove the contents of the backup destination" feature as this will greatly increase the duration of the backup and is unnecessary as while I am continually adding new data or moving some data the contents are fairly static.
In the past I have run a replicator backup program on my Windows PC but wanted to take that activity out of the loop and have the ReadyNAS do the heavy lifting for me.
Is there any simple solution to my question please?
