Backup local shares to USB via rsync
I recently upgraded my Pioneer Pro 6 to OS6 and now I'm having trouble backing up local shares to directly connected USB disks via rsync. I have the local share on the NAS selected as my 'source'...

Hi,
I backup all my ReadyNAS data to local USB drives via rsync, e.g.:
I have specified "localhost" as the destination, but I do not think that will be the issue.
Please check that your USB drive name is still correct... I have seen this change after I upgrade to new firmwares, and definitely if I put in a new drive (like in the shot above, I had to fix my job for a new drive).
I hope this helps,
Ian

Thanks, the problem ended up being that I was using 'USB_HDD_3:/path' (notice the ":") in the "path" instead of 'USB_HDD_3/path'
This worked in 4.x, but not in OS6. I didn't have to provide a username/password.

Great that you got it sorted - and a good spot on that sneaky ":"!
The username/password setup in the rsync job is only needed if you password protect the rsync access on the USB hdd. It sounds like you do not. I always do.
Good luck,
Ian
