OK, so this thread went dead, and I decided to gamble.
-First I removed the btsync app from within the Dashboard
-As from the beginning, I could not see a btsync Share from within the Dashboard
-I went into the shell, and I confirmed that there was indeed a Share called btsync
-I renamed the offending directory using:
mv btsync oldbtsync
- rebooted the NAS, just for the heck of it
- re-installed btsync version .70 from the Dashboard
Ta-da, it worked!
I happily set up a couple of folders to sync, and then sat down to watch a movie.
About 15 minutes later, the whole system froze up, complete disaster! It displayed a message in the Dashboard saying it could not connect to the system, and to call support. I had a total heart attack...
Called Netgear support and they got me to re-flash the firmware from memory (using the reset button method)
Now everything seems to be ok, and working perfectly
Thanks Poussin and retox for your advice and help, much appreciated, and I sure know a lot more about the system now :-)
