BtSync Issue - New Bittorrent Sync App via rnxtras.com
-> http://rnxtras.com/addons/bittorrent-sync-readynas-6-all
Hi guys,
I tried to install the Bittorrent Sync App 1.1.70 implemented by Poussin. (Readynas RN-102, everything up-to-date)
Everything worked fine, but when I fired up the app, there was an error in the log when starting the app via the ReadyNas webfrontend saying that the btsync folder creation failed (‘btsync’ creation failed). The second thing is, that when I login in into the btsync server webfrontend, nothing happens (I think this is because of the missing btsync folder). I rooted into the NAS and tried to check the btsync config and the startup init, though I’m not a great “script translator” I decided to write this post. Am I missing something? Do I have to turn on a certain services? Please show me the magic... :D
Anyway, thanxalot to Poussin for adding this nice app to the repository

P.S.: Is there a way to contact the author directly?, I would like to ask something about the iStat App? Is there a chance to see iStat running on the RN-102?
Poussin = Superpoussin?

- TorontotomAspirantOK, so I am on an RN102 with OS6, so I think Frontview = the Dashboard right?
When I am in the Dashboard, I cannot see the btsync share, even logged in as administrator. I can only see it through the shell. So I don't know how to delete it from the Dashboard since it doesn't show up there. - super_poussinVirtuosohello
Dashboard=Forntview
can you try : rn_nml -d share:/data/btsync
then install the 1.1.70 ftom the dropbox and let me know - TorontotomAspirantThat gives me an error too:
root@GrandviewNAS:~# rn_nml -d share:/data/btsync
Cannot find <delete-s>, but found <error-code>
root@GrandviewNAS:~# /data/btsync
-bash: /data/btsync: Is a directory
root@GrandviewNAS:~#
Was that supposed to be rm instead of rn? - TorontotomAspirantJust noticed I also got an error message in the Dashboard:
LOGMSG_SHARE_DELETE_WARN - retoxAspirantIt's working for me. :D
What I did:
1. Installed old 1.1.4.6 Version from the official Marketplace repository
2. btsync folder creation error
3. Uninstalled old version
4. Installed 1.1.7.0 version (old one)
5. btsync folder creation error
6. Uninstalled 1.1.7.0 (old version)
7. Created btsync folder through Dashboard (Shares)
8. Installed 1.1.7.0 version (old one) again
9. NO btsync folder creation error
10. Tried to enter Bittorrent Frontend by starting the app in Dashboard
11. White screen
12. Uninstalled 1.1.7.0 (old version)
13. Deleted manually added Share (point 7.)
14. Downloaded LATEST 1.1.7.0 version from -> https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ie9pwk1wut72ias/Ju9Ig4c4cm/btsync_1.1.70_all.deb
15. Installed this version
16. I did NOT create a share manually
17. I started the Bittorrent Sync App
18. Though the user/password combination was still in my browser cache it took me directly to the Bittorrent Frontend. From there you can add folder(s) and edit the preferences.
19. Remember User is simply: admin (not your Readynas User) and the Password is simply: password (not your Readynas password) !!!!
20. Thanxalot to Superpoussin/Possin
Hope you all will get working right.
retox - TorontotomAspirantGlad to hear you got it working retox! I will give this a try tonight. Out of curiousity, when you installed the .70 versions, were you doing it from the shell?
- retoxAspirantTom
I installed everything with the Netgear webfrontend.
Hope you'll get it working.
retox - TorontotomAspirantLe Sigh... when I get to step 7, I get an error. It says
1013050001
pre_proc_add_share() failed with status=1
Basically the same failed to create share error when I try to do it manually as when the app tries to do it.
I am close to just deleting the share from within the shell to see if that will clear up the mess. Is there a big risk to me doing that? Anyone know? - super_poussinVirtuosoinstalling directly the last version from dropbox should work without need to do more
- TorontotomAspirantI have tried it 20 different times, and I still get the same error. Failed to create Share btsync
I can't see the share btsync in the dashboard, but I can see it in the shell
I can't create or delete the share btsync through the dashboard, the only thing I have not tried is to delete the share in the shell directly, is this a bad idea?
It just seems as though there is a hidden share by this name already, and so when the app tries to install it produces an error because the share is already there. Then the GUI won't launch, and I would assume this is because it can't find or access the share btsync either. So I am thinking if I kill this share manually through the shell, maybe I will be able to do a clean install?
