BtSync Issue - New Bittorrent Sync App via rnxtras.com
-> http://rnxtras.com/addons/bittorrent-sync-readynas-6-all
Hi guys,
I tried to install the Bittorrent Sync App 1.1.70 implemented by Poussin. (Readynas RN-102, everything up-to-date)
Everything worked fine, but when I fired up the app, there was an error in the log when starting the app via the ReadyNas webfrontend saying that the btsync folder creation failed (‘btsync’ creation failed). The second thing is, that when I login in into the btsync server webfrontend, nothing happens (I think this is because of the missing btsync folder). I rooted into the NAS and tried to check the btsync config and the startup init, though I’m not a great “script translator” I decided to write this post. Am I missing something? Do I have to turn on a certain services? Please show me the magic... :D
Anyway, thanxalot to Poussin for adding this nice app to the repository
retox
P.S.: Is there a way to contact the author directly?, I would like to ask something about the iStat App? Is there a chance to see iStat running on the RN-102?
Poussin = Superpoussin?

- TorontotomAspirantI should have provided more detail in my last post. After I installed the latest version, the App does appear in my installed apps view. However, when I try to launch it, I get the same error I was getting before, which is the GUI won't open. The NAS also gives me an error message at the same time, saying that it failed to create the btsync share.
Really appreciate the help. Thanks a million! - super_poussinVirtuosoTry the new 1.1.70 in community Dropbox
- super_poussinVirtuosoYou can find all my addons in a drop box : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ie9pwk1wut72ias/p6_X2QeOIC
If you don not have dropbox installed use this link to install it, so I will have more space to share addons : http://db.tt/v4mPZg7l - TorontotomAspirantHi, downloaded the latest version from your dropbox (thanks). When I run the install this is what I get:
root@GrandviewNAS:~# dpkg -i /data/home/32Grand/btsync_1.1.70_all.deb
Selecting previously unselected package btsync.
(Reading database ... 15777 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking btsync (from .../32Grand/btsync_1.1.70_all.deb) ...
Setting up btsync (1.1.70) ...
Cannot find <add-s>, but found <error-code>

BitTorrent Sync forked to background. pid = 6205
root@GrandviewNAS:~#
Overall it seemed like there were less errors compared to last time. However, on the NAS, during install, I get the message that btsync Share creation failed
Then when I refresh my apps, Btsync is there. I turn it on, and then click on "Launch". This opens a new page, which says "Oops, this link appears to be broken"
This is the address that the launch button tries to open:
http://192.168.0.11:7099/gui/
the IP is correct
Let me know if there is other trouble shooting info I can provide.
Thanks once again! - super_poussinVirtuosowhat's your volume name ?
do you see a /volume_name/btsync folder ?
can you try to remove btsync then install it again ? - TorontotomAspirantVolume name = data
I checked and it looks like /data/btsync does exist
I will try again to re-install, and update shortly - TorontotomAspirantOk, I tried again:
1. I uninstalled from the ReadyNAS admin page. One note, it gave me the same error "Failed to create Share btsync" during the uninstall process as well
2. After uninstall, just out of curiousity, I checked and there was still a folder /data/btsync
3. I re-ran the dpkg output was:
root@GrandviewNAS:~# dpkg -i /data/home/32Grand/btsync_1.1.70_all.deb
Selecting previously unselected package btsync.
(Reading database ... 15778 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking btsync (from .../32Grand/btsync_1.1.70_all.deb) ...
Setting up btsync (1.1.70) ...
Cannot find <add-s>, but found <error-code>
ln: failed to create symbolic link `//btsync/config': File exists

BitTorrent Sync forked to background. pid = 28686
the "Cannot find" error came up last time, but the "ln: failed to create..." error is a new one
I refreshed my apps, toggled the service on, and when I click "Launch" I still get the same error: "Ooops! This link appears to be broken"
Sorry I am such a problem child here. I have installed other apps by you (Transmission, Ajaxplorer) and they have all worked fine. - super_poussinVirtuosook
so
download the 1.1.70 from dropbox again
remove the app
delete the share using frontview ( not from shell)
install it again - TorontotomAspirantHi, I clicked on "Remove" from within the ReadyNAS OS, and the app successfully uninstalled. From within the admin access, I cannot see a Share called 'btsync'. However, via SSH I see this:
root@GrandviewNAS:~# cd /data/btsync
root@GrandviewNAS:/data/btsync# ls
config shared
root@GrandviewNAS:/data/btsync#
So there is a folder there with files in it, but I can't see it from inside the GUI, only through SSH.
I didn't want to proceed since you said to delete from within Frontview. Suggestions?
Thanks! - super_poussinVirtuosoOn frontview go in share menu and delete the share from frontview
