Can I upgrade to a newer version of an NV+?
Hi, After many years, it looks like my ReadyNAS NV+ v1 has bit the dust. Since I have 4-500 GB drives of data on it, I was wondering if I could upgrade to another version of the NV+ line, say v2. I...
The NV+ v2 uses a different RAID format, so no.
If you do get e.g. a 314, our support should be able to help you recover your data, but you would need:
1. One disk (not from your array) to put in the ReadyNAS
2. Somewhere to backup the data to
3. Follow instructions and not put your disks from your NV+ into the ReadyNAS till told to by support
4. After backing up the data, do a factory reset then restore data from backup.
