Can I upgrade to a newer version of an NV+?

It very strange - my NV+ has been happily running 24x7 for several years, but this new error - Kernel Panic - has got me real concerned that something, probably fatal, is occurring with my NV+. Since I can't get in using Raidar, I can't see the system logs to find out what's really happening. The unit's been brilliant for such a long time that I can't imagine being without it.
Last night I did a memory test from the boot menu, but that came out ok.
I did a Skip Volume Check boot, but after a few minutes, another Kernel Panic.
I'd like to do a Full Volume Test, but that choice doesn't show up in the boot menu.
Oh well, I'll keep reading.
