Can't delete a (large) file

ReadyNAS 102 6.2.4 with 2x 4Tb Western Digital Green drives.

Share "BACKUP" provided out via SMB for Everyone.

File 'dailybackupXX.bkf' is created by a script using NTBACKUP on a legacy server. It is approximately 400Gb each time.

Since delivery of this ReadyNAS 102 (6.2.something -can't recall) on ocassions, one or other of these large files can not be deleted or replaced via the newly arriving named backup file.

Not via the share, not via the web admin page, not even via 'rm dailybackupXX.bkf' using SSH access on the *nix console.

The device becomes unresponsive, no share access is possible, no web admin access is possible and the unit appears to have crashed. The only solution is to hard boot via power removal. The file is still there.

Ultimately, the unit has to be factory reset to clear the drive contents. This will be perhaps the fourth time this has occurred over the units lifetime. We can't figure out what it is and our client wants the unit exchanged to another manufacturers offering.

Please send me your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)

Do you have an open support case for this? If so, can you give me your support case number?

What version of Windows is on the legacy server?

Have you tried changing settings using the SMB Plus app?
