Can't get USB 3.0 speed out of Pro 6
I'm running a ReadyNAS Pro 6 version 4.2.23. I have 2 USB 3.0 drives both externally powered. I have formatted both as EXT3. When I plug them in to any of the 3 ports, it shows a speed of 480 under...
The Pro 6 doesn't have any USB3 ports.
Of our legacy models. The Ultra 2/Ultra 2 Plus/Pro 2 and the Duo/NV+ v2 have USB3 ports. You can see the distinctive blue colour in the USB3 ports.
The U2/U2P/Pro 2 have the port on the front. The Duo/NV+ v2 have two USB3 ports on the rear.
Our current models have USB3 ports on the rear as well as eSATA. We do use a different filesystem in the new models so purchasing new disks and transferring your data across your network would be recommended if you decide to get one of these.
The 516 has a dual-core Ivy Bridge CPU and 4GB RAM and the 716x has a quad-core CPU and 16GB RAM. The 716x also has two 10GBase-T ports.
With the Pro 6 you should find NAS to NAS backups outperform backups to USB, provided the other NAS is also a fast one.
