Change of reserved UID ?

When you create a share on the NAS, the NAS creates both the share and a hidden user with the same name as the share, with the owner of the share being this new user - this is due to legacy and cannot be disabled.
So if you do not have a user with that UID, then the error you are getting is probably due to one of these hidden users taking the desired UID
The UIDs can safely be changed (I have UIDs sync'ed this way across 2 NAS and 5 clients), but only by editing the passwd file directly on the NAS and so you must enable root ssh access to you NAS to do this. If my diagnosis is correct, simply change the UID of the user(s) named after shares in /etc/passwd, but remember you may have to correct ownership permissions on those shares
