Dead unit?
We have a 3138 that appears to have failed.
When you apply power the fans start spinning and the drive lights always display the same even after replacing all drives:
1 both off
2 Power green / activitiy green (activity off flashes a while at first)*
3 power green / activity green
4 power off / activity red
UI button responds and the ID light turns on. Power and reset buttons are unresponsive. The fans suddenly spin up to full speed periodically as it sits on my bench.
*During intial power up drive 2 activity light flashes red once, 4x green, then off.
Reset button does nothing.
Dead system?

If you power it up diskless, will RAIDar detect it?

Im not sure its actually powering up. The only light that responds is the UI light. Power switch doesnt seem to do anything, and no lights turn on except the disk tray lights. No power, LAN, etc.
I'll try tomorrow anyway when I get to the office.
