Detected: High Spin Retry Count
Hi all,
I got this message: Detected high spin retry count: [196608] on disk 1 (Internal) [TOSHIBA DT01ACA200, Y3UV5T5GS]. This condition often indicates an impending failure. Be prepared to replace this disk to maintain data redundancy.
The disk shows healthy in the overview section. Should I replace this right away?
Also, since this happened right when the new antivirus is causing issues, is this related to the same issue as antivirus?
I have ReadyNAS 312 firmware version: 6.9.2. Windows 10.
Thank you.

The error is detected by the drives, so it's not related to antivirus (or really anything running on the NAS). The error says that the drive is having difficulty coming up to speed when it spins up. This generally means there's a mechanical issue with the drive.
If it were my disk, I'd order a replacement. In the meantime, perhaps disable disk spindown.
