Disk 5 not fully allocated? (Case #: 18935527)
ReadyNAS Ultra 6 Plus
Configuration: RAID Level X-RAID2, 5 disks
Status: Redundant
Ch 1 : WDC WD5000AAKS-65YGA0 [465 GB] 461 GB allocated
Ch 2 : WDC WD5000AAKS-65YGA0 [465 GB] 461 GB allocated
Ch 3 : Seagate ST31500341AS [1397 GB] 1392 GB allocated
Ch 4 : Seagate ST31500341AS [1397 GB] 1392 GB allocated
Ch 5 : Seagate ST31500341AS [1397 GB] 461 GB allocated
I have been adding the disks one by one up until now, everything was going swimmingly. But...
I've restarted many times already, why hasn't the rest of Ch5's HDD been allocated?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredPlease open a tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case and edit the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in the thread) to include your case number.
- xiaorrulezAspirant:S I just wanted to know if this is normal since this is my first X-RAID unit. Should it expand? Do you think it's an error?
I don't want to bother support if this is normal. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSupport should be able to tell what's wrong from looking at your logs. Occasionally there can be issues that prevent expansion from taking the place.
- xiaorrulezAspirantThanks, I'll contact them when they open again on Monday
- PapaBear1ApprenticeI would not wait until monday. They will probably respond the the requests in the order they show up in the queue.
- xiaorrulezAspirantThanks for the tip m8. I just submitted a ticket. I was looking at the live chat support :)
