DUO: Change disk1 to bigger one. No raid
Hi
got two disks both 1Tb.
Bought a new 2 Tb disk and wanna replace the disk1 for this bigger one. I have no raid at all so I can't just replace it.
Is there a way of saving the system from disk 1 and all the settings? What happens if I put a the blank 2Tb disk into slot 1?
I can copy the data myself outside the NAS so that's not a problem. But I do not wanna loose all my users,settings,addons and so on.
Any tips is appriciated

- Have you set it up in flexraid, RAID0? do you have a seperate volume per drive?
The operating system and settings are stored on both drives, so that will be saved.
You can always make a backup of your data and a backup of the configuration under System:Backup config, and load one or both back after changing disks.

In my view, you really ought to do that anyway (even if you weren't swapping to a new disk). I got 2 volumes ( c and d)
it says RAID Level 0, single disk
So u guys mean that I can do this?
* Backup settings
* pull disk 1
* insert new disk
* boot
* restore setting
* copy data
ALL ok. addons and all?

1. Back up the data in the volume.
For more information, see Back Up Files on page 78.
2. From the FrontView main menu, select Volumes > Volume Settings.
3. Click the tab for the volume you want to delete.
4. Click Delete Volume.
You receive an email message when the deletion process starts and another when the deletion process finishes.
5. Remove the disk from your ReadyNAS system.
You receive an email message alerting you that the disk was removed and your data is no longer protected.
6. Insert a new compatible disk.
You receive an email message alerting you that a new disk was inserted.
7. Create a new volume including the new disk.
For more information, see Create a Volume on page 20.
8. Restore your backed-up data to the new volume.
I'd add the step of saving the configuration, in case you need it. (And personally I'd back up both volumes). - Thank u for all the answer.
