Duo v1 expansion: 2x 750GB to 2x 2TB - But Volume Not Larger

XRaid is layered on top of standard RAID, so the volume itself uses a normal RAID format. So you probably should have picked X-Raid when you set up your duo.

However, since you are expanding to the hardware limits of the V1, it doesn't really matter whether you stick with RAID1 or switch to X-Raid. No future expansion is possible either way.
The only possible advantage of X-Raid I can think of is that it would allow you to move your disks to an NV+ v1 and expand from there. With RAID1 you could also migrate to the NV+ v1, but wouldn't be able to expand. It seems unlikely that you would actually do this, given that the v2 came out a year ago.
